Reiki and Back To The Basics

Reiki, Energy Healing, Organic, Homeopathic, Herbs...oftentimes these words are thought of as a part of the New Age Movement when in fact they are not. Each one of these are just a return to the basics. Many of us have been and are still being programmed to believe we need to run to the doctor for every little thing. Insurance only makes the situation worse because we as Americans "want to get our monies worth", since we are paying for insurance we want to make sure we are using it!

No doubt the playing field has changed, the earth is far more polluted, the food we eat is full of pesticides and herbicides, the water we drink and even the air we breathe contains toxins. Our bodies are not equipped to process the chemicals we are constantly being bombarded with.

You don't need to have an advanced degree in nutrition or medicine to live a healthy life if you follow commonsense. Taking care of yourself and creating balance in your life is easier than you think. Take time for yourself, eat as close to nature as possible, make wise decisions with your hard earned money. Support local organic farmers, try to eat food that looks as much like it's original form as possible, buy a good quality water filter which helps us to stay away from bottled water and most importantly...learn how to read food labels in the grocery store. Join a local Reiki circle, you can learn to give and receive the powerful benefits of Energy Healing.

As you can see...going back to the basics is a huge step ahead in today's world!

The Power of Touch

People at times try to put me into a position to defend Reiki, either they don't approve of it because of religious reasons or they generally doubt any type of alternative or complimentary medicine. Let me be the first to say...I believe in Reiki, and the power of Energy however if I'm swimming in the ocean and I'm attacked by a shark, do not take me to a Reiki Master or an Acupuncturist...Take me to the ER of the nearest hospital and have a team of surgeons stitch me back together!  I would never nor should any ethical Alternative Practitioner ever talk a person out of seeking traditional medical care from a qualified Healthcare Provider. I always tell clients to be sure to communicate to their doctor or traditional healthcare provider that they are seeing me as well. 

With that being said, I would like to take the time to share the amazing research currently being done in the field of Energy Work. What was thought to be impossible because it was thought to be nonexistent a short time ago is the capability to measure the Human Biomagentic Field.  Using a SQUID magnetometer we are now able to measure the energy that is experienced during a Reiki session.We now know with scientific certainty that not only do the brain wave patterns of Reiki Practitioner and receiver become synchronized in the alpha state, characteristic of deep relaxation and meditation, but they pulse in unison with the earth's magnetic field, known as the Schuman Resonance. 

While I am grateful to have science back up what I have always felt, I didn't require it for me to personally realize the Power of Touch.
